Larry And Rebel
Panhandling together on Spring Street between 6th and 7th Streets,, DTLA Larry and his dog Rebel were inseparable. Larry had rescued Rebel from an abusive owner on San Pedro Street. The dog was being severely beaten one afternoon, and Larry intervened, begging the man to allow him to care for the dog. Somehow Larry was able to persuade the man to let him take the little dog, who he promptly named Rebel. The dog was extremely devoted to Larry, and still bore the hard, raised scar on his skull from the beating. Larry dotes on Rebel, and they are rarely seen apart.
